New Delhi, the administrative capital of India. There’s absolutely nothing to worry about safety. It is as safe as any other major metropolitan city in the world, if not much better.
Unfortunately, there had been few rape cases of tourists in the city recently. In my opinion, those cases have been blown out of proportion. As long as you watch your timing and place where to go and when, there’s nothing to worry about.
A lone woman roaming around the city late night is risky like in any other part of the world. As for cost of living and taxes, it is becoming very high these days. Your co. being multinational would be providing a free accomodation. if your agreement doesn’t state so then you may find a decent 2 B/R in a good neibourhood for about 20K/month.
Taxes, I’m not much familiar with that. Anyway, there are Auditing firms who will guide you and help you pay the least tax amount for a small fee.
Otherwise, it is a city of great historic importance and has got a lot to offer for tourists. Have a nice stay
